Jenny White has been a proud and passionate member of the Equitas community of educators for over a decade and brings her experience as a veteran elementary classroom teacher, instructional coach and curriculum specialist to her role of Elementary School Literacy Coach.  She believes that Literacy is a civil rights issue and that scholars deserve high quality instruction and support in reading.  She knows that here at Equitas, we have the perfect combination of incredible educators, inspiring leaders, supportive families and network support in place to ensure that every scholar meets their goals.

Jenny came to Equitas as a Kindergarten teacher after years as a 1st and 2nd grade teacher at ICEF Frederick Douglass Academy in the nearby West Adams neighborhood.  Her love of teaching when teaching English when she lived in Hanoi, Vietnam teaching English Language with a special appointment to a UNESCO school.  Prior to becoming an educator, Jenny worked in the corporate sector for Levi Strauss & Co. and Sun Microsystems.  

When not at work Jenny loves to travel, find delicious places to eat all over the city, exercise, hike, practice mindfulness, cook and spend time with her friends and family preferably near a body of water.
