Bio

Grecia Serrano Navarro serves as the Director of Extended Learning Opportunities. She oversees the after-school Woodcraft Rangers programs. In addition, she also manages the Independent Studies program for Equitas scholars that need an alternative schooling model. In the future, Grecia hopes to expand the out-of-school offerings for the Equitas community. 

Grecia joins Equitas with a Music Education background. She has taught elementary music in the Pasadena Unified School District while also working as a teaching artist for the Youth Orchestra Los Angeles (YOLA). Grecia then took on a leadership position with the YOLA program as the Director for the YOLA at Camino Nuevo site. In both Pasadena and YOLA, she grew small music programs into robust music offerings for the student communities.Grecia received a Bachelors in Music Education from the University of Michigan and then received her Master of Public Administration degree from California State University, Northridge. She is dedicated to using her expertise in music education and leadership to support high potential communities in Los Angeles.
