I became an educator because… I was deeply inspired by my 9th-grade English teacher and my AP English Language teacher, who sparked my love of literature and showed me the power of teaching. Their influence led me to pursue a degree in English, join Teach for America, and begin my career as a high school English teacher.

Prior to Equitas, I… taught high school English in East Los Angeles for ten years before transitioning into school leadership as a high school administrator just west of downtown Los Angeles.

I chose Equitas because…I wanted to work at an organization that was deeply rooted in the community it served.

Outside of school, I enjoy… spending time with my family, our 4 cats, and our french bulldog. I also enjoy going to theme parks and attending concerts.
