I became an educator because I believe that developing a critical understanding of the past is an essential part of building a more just and equal society. Knowing why our world is the way it is requires that we know its history. Plus, I also like doing impressions of historical figures.

Prior to Equitas, I Completed a PhD in United States History at UCLA, where I developed a passion for teaching a range of history and writing courses, including courses on the history of the criminal legal system, the history of inequality, and the global history of soccer.

I chose Equitas because It seemed like a great place to work... and it is!!

Outside of school, I enjoy running, playing soccer, backpacking, reading, cooking, listening to baseball games, and spending time with friends and family.
