Maryann Salvador is excited to be a part of the Equitas team. She hopes to follow its mission and encourage scholars to succeed and accomplish their goal of one day going to and graduating from college. Ms. Salvador first graduated and earned an Associate's Degree in Administration of Justice from East Los Angeles College and is a recent graduate of California State University, Los Angeles where she received a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice. She was born and raised in East Los Angeles but both her mother and father immigrated from El Salvador. During her junior year in high school, Ms. Salvador volunteered at her high school's library and had the privilege to work with both the students and staff where she developed a passion for helping people. She hopes to use the knowledge she gained in her time as a volunteer to help and work with the scholars of Equitas. As a first-generation college student, Ms. Salvador knows very well the importance and value of a college degree and will help to provide all scholars with the knowledge and skills needed to attend and graduate from college. In her spare time, she loves to spend time reading or spending time with her family.
