Nik is proud to serve Equitas schools as Chief of Staff. Nik Orlando earned his B.A. in Art from California State University, Long Beach. He earned his M.A. in Collaborative Educational Leadership and his Ed.D in Leadership for Change from Fielding Graduate University. Nik’s research has focused on school leadership preparation and evaluation. He oversaw the design and implementation of a school leadership development and evaluation system for a set of charter schools in Los Angeles. His passion in education is engaging individuals, teams and organizations through a relational approach to shape institutions that focus on the vision of educational success and developing a backwards plan incorporating academic proficiency, scholarly dispositions, and operational efficiency with an emphasis on strong systems that build capacity and sustainability for the life of the organization.Nik Orlando spent the last 17 years at PUC Schools as a teacher, principal, regional director and superintendent of seven charter schools spanning elementary, middle and high school. He is proud of leading and supporting schools to Gold Ribbon, Title I and California Distinguished School status. Prior to his career at PUC Schools, he enjoyed teaching and leading at a small charter school in Long Beach. Nik Orlando is currently an Assistant Clinical Professor at Loyola Marymount University and has been a Fieldwork Instructor and guest lecturer at LMU for the past 11 years.
