Alumni Service Day
The Alumni Service Day allows alumni the opportunity to connect with the Equitas community and to engage in equity work that directly contributes to supporting fellow Equitas alumni and peers in the Pico-Union community. The 2021 Alumni Service Day will be held virtually during the month of March due to restrictions in place for COVID-19.
Telling your story and leveraging your own experience is a powerful tool in advocacy and we invite you to join us in a Letter Writing Campaign! To participate, please select one of the below prompts and craft a letter. Submissions of 150+ words will receive service hours.
(1) Write a letter to the Equitas Class of 2029 (current 8th graders) congratulating them on their culmination, and include your advice on transitioning and navigating high school. What tips, tricks, advice would you give to them? What do you wish someone would have told you?
(2) Write a letter to the Equitas Class of 2025 (current seniors) congratulating them on finishing high school and include motivational words of encouragement for heading off to college. What would you want to remember when you head off to college? What will remind them to not give up?
Additional option for seniors
(3) You have already written a personal statement essay for your college applications -- consider submitting a recording of you reading your personal statement essay aloud.
