College Prep Saturday consists of free, half-day workshops designed to help middle and high school students from diverse socio-economic, racial, and ethnic backgrounds — and their parents—prepare, plan, and pay for college. Breakout session topics include preparing for and applying to college, choosing a college that’s the right fit, writing a personal statement, researching financial aid and scholarship opportunities, and understanding the real cost of college. These sessions are tailored specifically to the following groups: 6-8th graders, 9-10th graders, 11-12th graders, as well as parents.

The Youth Leadership Consortium (YLC) is a Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF)-led partnership, with organizations such as the American Indian College Fund, College Board, Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute, Jack and Jill Foundation, College Greenlight, and the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation, brought together by the mission to provide students and families of all backgrounds and ethnicities, with the knowledge and resources to successfully complete a higher education. The YLC works to ensure that the families that institutions of higher education collectively serve, are representative of the diversity in the United States.
